Breathtaking walks

Le Morne Brabant is located in the south-west of the island and is without a doubt one of the unmissable sites. Known to be listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site but also to be located near the underwater waterfall, a real natural jewel! We recommend that you plan a day of exploration if you are not staying directly at Le Morne, as many activities await you in this former fishing village. First of all, hiking enthusiasts will find their happiness by trying to climb the mountain. The route is quite difficult and requires good equipment, but if you are not afraid of the steep slopes and you are not accompanied by young children, the effort is worth it! Indeed, the summit of the Morne Brabant rises to 550 meters and will offer you an extraordinary view of the turquoise bay, the lush vegetation but also the white sandy beaches. If you are lucky, you might even be able to admire dolphins swimming. This site is particularly well known for the walks it offers, just as pleasant without reaching the top of the mountain. Trekking sessions with bouldering are organized but also group trail sessions starting from the beach for the most sportive among you. So, whether you are discovering the Morne Brabant in extreme physical conditions or on a quieter family walk, it is the ideal place to get some fresh air while enjoying the breathtaking scenery.

Beyond the superb walks that the Morne Brabant offers, this magnificent site in Mauritius is also appreciated for its large fine sandy beach that stretches for several kilometres at the foot of the mountain. Although it is not the largest beach on the island, many tourists and locals agree that it is among the most beautiful thanks to its postcard-like environment. The water is crystal clear and shallow at the beachfront, which is ideal for relaxing safely with children. It's also a great place to watch beautiful sunsets, where the shades of the sun are reflected in the water and colour the mountains.

You will also notice that the beach is divided into two parts, the northern part of the beach which is the favourite place for people looking to swim and relax on the sand, and the southern part of the beach which is more dedicated to water sports and which will delight lovers of water sports.

As mentioned above, the southern part of the Morne Brabant beach is ideal for water sports. Indeed, this perfect spot for kitesurfing is famous all over the world for its favourable conditions such as shallow water, few waves but also light wind. So many kitesurfing events are organized there every year for all levels. Windsurfing is an equally popular activity where you will have the opportunity to discover this sport or to improve your skills.

At the same time, another way to discover Le Morne Brabant by sea is to organize a boat trip, ideal to discover all the treasures of the coast. You can thus discover Ile aux Bénitiers to the north of Le Morne which is an islet in the middle of the lagoon or the crystal rock. The advantage of a boat trip is that you will be able to observe dolphins swimming alongside you for a unique experience!
