Villa Dune is a superb property situated in Poste Lafayette on the north-east coast of Mauritius. The villa is next to Villa Dune II and belongs to the same owner.
These are recently built villas, set on one of Mauritius’s beautiful beaches with breathtaking views of the lagoon in an absolutely magnificent location.
Newly built with tasteful contemporary décor, right on the beachfront, featuring a private swimming pool and a fully equipped kitchen.
The building is constructed from basalt stone, oak and thatch (sugar cane straw).

The villa has the following features:

- 1 32-inch flat-screen LCD TV (in the master bedroom upstairs) with a selection of satellite channels.
- Open-plan kitchen: please provide capsules for the Nespresso machine
- Generator.


Outdoors

In the evening, the villa features ambient lighting controlled by a professional Dynalite dimming system. There are 3 living rooms, 3 dining areas (front and rear verandas, and an indoor space) and tables seating 8 people. The swimming pool measures 3 m x 6 m and has a Balao wood deck. It can be secured on request (with a safety net). Outside, you’ll also find a separate laundry room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and ironing board and iron. Finally, snorkelling and water sports enthusiasts will be in their element thanks to the beautiful, unspoilt lagoon. Just out front is a prime snorkelling spot, but there are four tides a day and it’s ideal at low tide because the fish come out easily. For longer swims, Bras d’Eau beach is brilliant – it’s uncrowded except on Sundays and is just 5 minutes away.


Staff & Services

1 housekeeper from 9.00 am to 2.30 pm, Monday to Saturday, who speaks French and English (Sundays and public holidays: on request and at an additional cost). She takes care of the housework, cooking (one meal a day) and the laundry (washing and ironing in the laundry room located outside).

=> Overtime for housework:

  • weekdays (Monday to Saturday): Rs 150/h or €3/hour from 2.30 pm to 6.00 pm — Rs 300/h or €8/hour from 6.00 pm onwards
  • Sundays and public holidays: from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm at €3 per hour, then €8/hour (from 1.00 pm)

The housekeeper can prepare delicious Creole meals.
The caretaker, who lives on site, looks after the garden, the swimming pool and minor maintenance. He is also present when external service providers are carrying out work.

Note:
- A chef is not permitted in this villa.
- If there are children who cannot swim, the pool safety net will be fitted as standard.
- Outdoor barbecues and the use of a Weber barbecue are not permitted, given the highly flammable thatched roof.
- Additional latches have been fitted to the bay windows (2025).
- The bed linen has been replaced (2025).

- It is not allowed to organise events in the property without prior approval by Villanovo
- Pool has no swimming guard
- Safety fence around the pool, or fenced on demand
- Security system for the pool
- The house must be returned in the same condition of check in. Otherwise fees can be charged to the customer.

- Amount of security deposit : 500.00 EUR
- Security deposit must be paid in the form of : Credit card pre-authorization (amount is not debited from your card)

Reservation conditions

- Guarantee deposit charged by Villanovo upon reservation : 40 %
- 2nd payment 45 Days to arrival day : 60 % of total amount of reservation is due to Villanovo.
- The reservation price does not include optional incidentals or on-request items which will be added to your final bill.

Cancellation policy and cancellation fees

- Any booking modification or cancellation must be sent to us by email
- Cancellation policy is applied according to villa local time
- For all cancellations, the initial guarantee deposit is non-refundable.
- Cancellation occurs less than 45 Days to arrival day : 100 % of total amount of reservation is due to Villanovo.

Très bon séjour en général.
Le linge mériterait d'être mieux lavé (draps, oreillers, serviettes de toilette) et certains appareils (frigo, machine à eau, four) à nettoyer plus en profondeur.

+ Privacy: both as regards the pool and the access to the beach. Our kids were able to spend most of the day naked, both in de sand and in the water.

+ The set-up with the maid made life for us much easier, and she was very agreeable. She did not stay that long usually (and came in too late for us to prepare breakfast), but it was very nice to just leave the cleaning to her and not having to think about dinner. The adults loved her cooking very much, as it was authentic Mauritius. For the kids, it was a little challenging.

- The beach is not the kind of beach you expect from Mauritius: the sea is rough and there are plenty of rocks, so there is no swimming or snorkeling in front of the house.
- While the master bedroom upstairs is beautiful and flood with light, the ground floor is rather dark, in particular when the sun is down. We had brought a puzzle, but struggled with the lack of light in the evenings.

La tranquillité, la plage presque privée, la cuisine ultra équipée, le prêt de serviettes de bain et de plage, la suite parentale royale, la salle de douche magnifique, la terrasse très agréable et à l'abri du vent. La maison toute entière est moderne, pratique, grande et très agréable à vivre, les deux baies vitrées s'ouvrent sur une somptueuse terrasse avec table à manger pour des petits déjeuners et diners au soleil. LA PRESENCE D'UN MIKADO GEANT TROP FUN !!!

Nous ne connaissions pas cette agence de villas de luxe et nous ne sommes pas déçus du tout. Tout a été très simple, même si le site n'est parfois pas très clair, les équipes ont été extrêmement réactives par mail et téléphones. Nous recommandons donc Villanovo.
La piscine un peu froide en hiver, Guyanne qui arrive a 9h30 peut vous réveiller, attention au "service blanchisserie" le consommable (la lessive) est à vos frais, autant mettre une machine à laver directement dans la maison. Malgré des jeux de lumière très importants, ça manque un poil d'éclairage.

Sa tranquillité, son accès plage direct et surtout de l'avoir presque que pour soit. une terrasse abritée avec des par vent vous permettent de vivre dehors quelque soit le temps. les services du gardien et jardinier Jin, très gentil et d'une discrétion absolue vous ratisse le sable, nettoie la terrasse et la piscine avant votre réveil sans que vous vous en rendiez compte.L'océan en bruit de fond. Le repas d'arrivé qui était délicieux (plat et dessert sans oublier la petite bouteille de vin au frais ) très appréciable après les heures de voyage.

A partir de notre réservation sur le site Villanovo la conciergerie a pris contact avec nous pour nous proposer ses services et nous a géré la location de voiture, des clubs de golf et tous autres services qui sont passés à merveille.
L'emplacement éloigné par rapport aux activités de l'île et des commerces. Les services de Guyane qui fait un peu ce qu'elle veut à ses horaires, ce qui devrait être un plaisir deviens un poids, elle mélange le noir et blanc quand elle fait la lessive (autre que celle que l'on lui a demandé d'utiliser) et fait plus acte de présence qu'autre chose, dommage elle est gentille et c'est une excellente cuisinière mais elle vous donne un livre limité pour les recettes à préparer et n'est pas riche de proposition.

High quality service from Villanovo
In our opinion the cook service could be better organized, for example, it would be nice to have a fixed menu for every day so that the woman knows what she has to cook and can also going shopping. It's difficult to organize the shopping for the next day dinner.
Moreover, we went out during the day and we would have preferred to have the dinner ready instead of the lunch....it was not always possible to grill a fish before for example.
Breakfast was not prepared, differently from the information given.

La localisation est splendide, au calme et quand même proche de tout. Nous avons adoré le style de la maison.
Les repas concoctés par la cuisinière Guyanne étaient top!
La salle de douche du rez-de chaussée, notamment la cabine de douche "tombe un peu en ruine". Le seul petit "moins" à mettre au crédit de Guyanne, la cuisinière, était son manque de ponctualité. Pour notre part, le séjour a été marqué par un rat qui est venu mourir dans le faux plafond et qui nous a incommodé. Cependant, tant l'agence que les propriétaires ont fait le nécessaire pour que la situation se règle au plus vite et au mieux. Cela a été agréable de bien être entourés.
