With some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, Mauritius offers breathtaking landscapes. As you fly over the island, you become amazed by the shade of blue between the sky and the sea, and the desire to swim in the translucent lagoon is only going to increase. The variety of beaches offers a wide range of possibilities, from diving to surfing to snorkeling, there is something for everyone.

Head to the South of Mauritius and discover the true Mauritian jewels that are the beaches of the South.

The Beaches of Morne

The Beaches of Morne

Le Morne beach, set against the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Le Morne Mountain, offers delightful translucent water and a breathtaking setting. During the day, the beach is renowned for being one of the best and most beautiful kitesurfing spots in the world. You can also go paragliding or surfing. In the evening, enjoy the beautiful sunsets where the golden hues of the sun reflect in the water and color the mountain. A little further on, you will find the beach of La Prairie, which is less frequented and offers better snorkeling possibilities thanks to its incredible sea bed.

The beach of the Pointe d'esny

The beach of the Pointe d'esny

Close to the village of Mahebourg, the beach of Pointe d'Esny is a little jewel of nature, preserved from the agitation of the neighboring towns and that of Blue Bay. It is considered one of the wildest beaches in Mauritius, a secret place. As such, it is less easy to access as you will have to take a short 150-meter path from the coastal road if you do not have private access directly from your villa. Without any natural shade, it is rather difficult to spend the day there. Nevertheless, for a morning or an afternoon, its calm turquoise waters will not leave you indifferent.

Blue Bay Beach

Blue Bay Beach

Blue Bay beach is named for its beautiful emerald blue lagoon and is renowned for its stunning coral reef and popular marine park. It means that it is the ideal spot for snorkeling and observing the island's underwater flora. Excursions are also available along the beach to go snorkeling further offshore. For those who don't want to get wet, glass-bottom boat rides can also be enjoyable. A popular activity for families!

The Beach of Gris Gris

Unlike all the others, Gris Gris beach, located in the extreme south of Mauritius, is not a beach suitable for swimming. Due to the absence of a coral reef, one comes here to admire the spectacle of the waves that come crashing violently against the black volcanic cliffs of the coastline, giving the impression that the rocks are "crying". Gris Gris is home to some magnificent coves, observable during a walk with the family or with your partner. You won't be disappointed with the trip.

Rivière des Galets beach

Rivière des Galets beach

Located between Souillac and Bel Ombre, the beach of Rivière des Galets is perhaps the most unexpected beach in Mauritius.  As you may have guessed, it is composed of thousands of small pebbles and contrasts sharply with the many white sandy beaches that border the island. You can come and relax here and hear the gentle sound of the waves breaking on the shore as it is not very touristy. It is an opportunity to discover landscapes that are different from Mauritius but just as wonderful.
