An unspoiled and generous flora, a paradisiacal climate throughout the year, and turquoise waters sheltering a unique tropical marine fauna. This is what makes you dream, and yet it is not paradise, but a small atoll in the middle of the Indian Ocean a few thousand kilometers from Africa: Mauritius. With a coastline of about 330 km all around the island, Mauritius is a postcard with its sumptuous white sand beaches that seem to stretch as far as the eye can see.

Today, let's head for the North of Mauritius to discover the most beautiful beaches of this region!

Mont Choisy Beach: The ultimate family beach

Mont Choisy Beach: The ultimate family beach

Mont Choisy beach is the longest beach in Mauritius. It stretches from Pointe aux canonniers to Pointe aux Piments via Trou-aux-Biches.
More protected from the wind than the other beaches, it is a unique and ideal place to swim and sunbathe under the Mauritian sun. Very popular with families, swimming is safe for children and the absence of hotel complexes contributes to the calm and serenity of this beach. Lining the beach trees will protect you from the sun during the hottest hours or give you a little shade during a family picnic. There are also many snack bars on the beach to eat. Favour Le Kiosque Magique. It is a snack bar where you can enjoy Mauritian specialties such as the upside-down bowl, octopus mines, or samosas at a very reasonable price.

Grand Bay Beach: The Popular Beach

Grand Bay Beach: The Popular Beach

Probably the most popular beaches on the island with crystal clear, warm water, Grand Bay's public beach is ideal for water sports activities such as windsurfing, canoeing, and water skiing. Indeed, Grand Bay welcomes thousands of tourists every year and many water sports centers. A former fishing village, it is now a seaside resort renowned for its many restaurants, bars, and shops. To admire the magnificent sunsets, don't hesitate to go to the small marina of Grande Baie where the rays of the setting sun reflect on the boats.

Cap Malheureux Beach: the romantic beach

Cap Malheureux Beach: the romantic beach

The Plage du Cap Malheureux is a picturesque beach in the northern end of the island. The warm turquoise water and the beautiful islands just a few meters from the shore (the Coin de Mire) make the swimming and the walks ideals. Historically, this is the beach where the English landed when they took possession of the island in 1810. Symbolically, this beach is culturally known for its red-roofed church, which faces the bay. As such, many faithful come to hear mass there on Sundays.

Trou-aux-Biches Beach: The diving spot of North Mauritius

Trou-aux-Biches Beach: The diving spot of North Mauritius

Trou-aux-Biches beach is the perfect place to relax and recharge your batteries. It is a paradisiacal setting with turquoise water and white sand that will soothe you. Trou-aux-Biches is known as the best scuba diving spot in Mauritius. Many little-known sites are accessible from this beach to admire the multicolored tropical fishes that make up the lagoon. Do not hesitate to contact Villanovo to organize your excursion! You may be lucky enough to see the famous parrotfish, the marlin, and sometimes even dolphins. Finally, don't miss the sunset, to admire the red and orange colors reflected on the ocean. An experience you should not miss.
