4 tips for planning your trip to Mauritius

When you leave for Mauritius, expect to have one of the most beautiful trips you might ever go on, and if you are a regular visitor to the island, you will be enchanted time and time again. For travellers who have not yet had the opportunity to visit Mauritius, Villanovo has selected 5 tips to help you plan your stay so that everything will go smoothly.

1 . Choose the right time of year

1 . Choose the right time of year

According to popular belief, Mauritius is illuminated by the sun all year round, however, it is good to avoid a bad surprise by carefully choosing the time of year to go. From May to November, there is almost no risk that you will be disappointed by the weather, but from January to April, the weather may vary and could affect your plans. It would be a shame to fly long-haul to arrive in bad weather.

2 . Select your ideal accommodation

2 . Select your ideal accommodation

Villanovo offers a wide choice of villas in Mauritius, all according to your budget. Discover our villas at low prices, our villa on a private island or our ultra-luxury properties. Living somewhere that feels like home when far from home is a priority when planning your holiday. So choose a villa where you will feel comfortable and where each member of your family or friends will have their own personal space.

Moreover, a holiday means a villa with a swimming pool, jacuzzi or even better, on the beach. Villanovo advises you to take a look at the superb and inviting property, The Saint Regis Villa, a villa that embodies luxury and will quickly make you feel at home.

3 . Plan a holiday schedule

3 . Plan a holiday schedule

Planning your holiday schedule can be beneficial because once you are there, you will spend less time exploring websites than actually enjoying the places you want to see. In addition, it will avoid potentially unpleasant surprises once you get there, such as last-minute program changes that can be disruptive when you don't have a specific program.

You can plan to visit the island's museums, select sports activities for you and your loved ones, choose driving routes, visit the Domaine de l'étoile and a whole range of other activities to do with the family.

4 . Some useful figures

To get to Mauritius, the flight is relatively long depending on your departure destination. From the UK, the flight will take you 12 hours, you can use British Airways, Air Mauritius or TUI for a direct flight if you want to avoid stops and arrive faster in your dream villa. In Mauritius, you will have a time difference of 4 hours more in winter and only 3 hours in summer, for example, 2 pm in Paris will correspond to 6 pm in Mauritius. The ideal duration on site is 2 weeks, which is what travellers advise to have time to do everything: visit, rest on the beach and have a good time with family or as a couple. Otherwise, about ten days are enough to enjoy the beauty of the Island.
